Focus Verse: 1 Peter 1:2
"God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ."
Before you did a single thing to earn it, God already knew your name. Not a surface-level, passing familiarity — he knew you completely, with full awareness of every failure and every wound you carry, and he chose you anyway. That is where the gospel begins, not with your effort, but with his knowing.
Think about a moment when someone truly saw you — not the polished version you present to the world, but the real you underneath — and stayed anyway. That kind of being-known changes everything. Now multiply that by infinity. The God who flung galaxies into place turned his full attention toward you and said, "That one. I choose that one." Your identity does not start with what you have accomplished or what has been done to you. It starts here, in the eternal choosing of a Father who knew you before you knew yourself.
Today's Challenge: Sometime today, sit quietly for five minutes and simply say out loud, "God knows me and chose me anyway," and let that truth settle deeper than your feelings.
Prayer: Father, I confess that I often let my failures and other people's opinions write the story of who I am. Remind me today that you knew me fully before I ever came to you. Teach me to rest in being chosen rather than striving to be worthy.
